I did not try the firefox-esr install without first fixing /etc/nf. You are aware that 11.4 has a bug with /etc/nf, correct? This has been discussed here in the Google group before. There are messages about libevent-2.1.7 and libvp圆, but they were both installed successfully (see below). This morning I downloaded 11.4 32 bit, verified the MD5 with the Slax page, installed it on a spare USB drive, booted Always Fresh, configured networking and did apt install firefox-esr from a terminal window. I thought there might be a problem with the packages on Slax 11.4 32 bit, since I've only been using 64 bit myself. I wish I could help but I'm not able to reproduce the errors you folks are seeing.
